6-year-old baby-sitting charge: I want my cookie but I don’t want my cookie.
Boy: I want my cookie now, but I might want it later!
Me: So do you want to just save your cookie?
Boy: But I want to eat it now. But what if I’m hungry later?
Me: Are you hungry now?
Boy: Yes, and I want my cookie, but if I eat it now and i’m hungry later, I won’t have a cookie. I eat this cookie now and I won’t have a cookie anymore.
Me: This is getting a little existential.
Boy: What’s that?
